Available Grits

We offer grits between 12 and 120 – the smaller the number the coarser the grit. Coarser Grits are used for fast, aggressive stock removal, leveling and shaping and Finer Grits are used for projects with less stock removal where a better finish is required.  If your application requires a grit size different than what we have listed please contact us.

Grit Classifications

12/14  –  Extra Coarse

16/20/24  –  Coarse

30/36/46  –  Medium

54/60  –  Medium Fine

80/120  –  Fine

Grades and Hardness

Our hardness is rated from M-T with “M” being the softest grade.  A Softer Wheel performs better for cutting/grinding harder materials while a Harder Wheel is preferred for softer materials. Letter designations of degree of hardness vary from one manufacture to another.

Grades of Hardness

M&N  –  Ultra Soft Used with Silicon

O  –  Very Soft

P  –  Soft

Q  –  Medium Soft

R  –  Medium

S  –  Medium Hard
